Karthik Ultrasound Scan Centre

Dr. Chitra Panchapagesan is a veteran in the field of ultrasonography. A graduate of the Stanley Medical College in the year 1988, she honed her skills in General Medical Practice in Bangalore immediately. She trained in Ultrasonography at Mediscan Systems Chennai in the year 1994 and headed the Ultrasound department at the Divakar’s Hospital, Bangalore on Bannerghatta Road and later at JP Nagar Bangalore.

She also headed the Divakar-Medican Scan Training Institute at the same hospital and has been instrumental in training over a 100 of the leading Obstetricians and sonologists in Bangalore and in other cities in the state of Karnataka.

She started Karthik Ultrasound Scan Centre and Karthik Clinic in the year 1995 and established a reputation of “Aiding Definitive Diagnosis” in the Gynecology and Obstetrics practice circles in Bangalore. She completed her fellowship in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound and Basic Fetal Medicine in the year 2009 under Dr. S. Suresh & Dr. Indrani Suresh Directors, MediScan, Chennai and since then is the Fetal Medicine Consultant at the Fortis Hospitals (erstwhile Wockhardt Hospitals), Bannerghatta Road.

Simultaneously she established the “Prolife” - A Centre for Fetal and Maternal health at the Karthik Ultrasound Scan Centre. Dr. P. Chitra has more than 500,000 scans to her credit in course of her long career. She is the Secretary of the Medical Ultrasound Society of Karnataka (MUSK) and has held the post for the past 6 years. Always passionate about learning and updating herself, she has pursued additional diplomas in Maternal and Child Health from IGNOU, in Preventive & Promotive Health from Apollo Hospitals, and in Medical Law and Ethics from the National Law School of India University.

She has presented several papers in national / international conferences and has been a faculty in several of these conferences and has established a distinctive style of presenting the relevant topics in these platforms.
